Diesen überlackierten Flachtank wollte ich im Originalzustand sehen. Die stellenweise sichtbare schwarze Farbe machte mir Hoffnung auf eine gute Originalsubstanz. Erst wurde an einer kleinen Stelle im hinteren Bereich ein Reinigungsversuch unternommen der sehr vielversprechend war. Leider ist dann doch weniger Originallack übrig geblieben als erhofft. Trotzdem sieht man sehr schön die Handwerkskunst wie der Tank gefertigt wurde. Fast zu schade um sie durch neuen Lack zu verdecken. Übrigens anscheinend ein später Tank, weil die frühen Kupfernasen hatten. Interessant auch das anscheinend ohne Grundierung gearbeitet wurde und mit einer sehr dünnen Farbschicht. Es ist mit Sicherheit eine der schonensten wenn nicht die schonenste Reinigungsmethode (natürlich bestimmt auch hier der Anwender das Ergebnis). Bezahlbar ist das ganze auch.

I wanted to see this nice flattank in its original condition, therefore a little corner at the rear end was cleaned with dry ice blasting. This attempt looked very fine so i decided to clean the whole tank. Unluckily not much of the original painting survived. But the result looks very good because it is one of the effectivst methods of cleaning without destroying. You can see the pretty art how they made the tank and i am really think about not to hide this under new painting. You can see also that the painting was directly on the surface without any antirust-primer. It must be a late tank as the early ones had a copper nose. But as always the man on the machine is responsible for the result, let him show his experience on a test item before you give him your "jewels".
